How To Prepare For Your Shoot

Be Prepared

Choose clothing with coordinating colors. Patterns and textures make the most interesting photos so don’t be afraid to mix & match. Steer clear of having each person being shot wearing identical clothing (i.e. white shirt and jeans). Avoid solid white and solid black.

Scarves, hats, sweaters, jackets. Layers make the photo more interesting.

Plans For Prints

If you know you want to put a family photo in your living room think about the colors in the room. Choosing clothing and photo setting that will compliment your decor.

VIP'S Only

Have only people directly involved in the shoot attend the session. Additional people will only be a distraction for your child.

Choose a date and time for the session when you know your child will be well rested and full. A cranky, hungry baby can be a recipe for disaster.

Be Punctual

It's best to arrive a few minutes early to give your family a few minutes to settle down and get comfortable before being photographed.

Keep Calm And Carry On

Although it's hard, be in the moment and embrace how your child is taking to being photographed. The best shots happen when the kids are being just that, kids.

No Selfies

Whipping out your cell phone during a shoot to take your own shots causes confusion. Your children won't know who they should look at you, you or me.
